WILSON Fluency™ / Basic Workshop
This five-hour workshop will look at the important aspects of explicit fluency instruction and reading practice to develop students’ skills in reading with ease and expression to understand connected text. WILSON Fluency / Basic materials will be explored.
WILSON Fluency / Basic is a supplemental fluency program appropriate for younger students with beginning reading skills or for older students who are not reading fluently due to decoding deficits. Although it specifically supplements Steps 1-3 of the Wilson Reading System®, it can be used with any reading curriculum that directly teaches closed syllable word structure. LEARN
MORE
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

- Learn how to conduct formalized fluency instruction with progressively more challenging text.
- Learn to measure words correct per minute (WCPM) and assess prosody
- Practice fluency lessons including assessing baseline reading, conducting practice with high frequency words, controlled word lists, phrases, phrased story, and reassess words with un-phrased passage.
