Wilson Just Words^® Public Workshops

This 10-hour workshop provides the practice and guidance needed to effectively begin teaching the Wilson Just Words curriculum. At the completion of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

• Describe Just Words principles of instruction, the appropriate student population, and the implementation models used
• Review how Just Words materials facilitate multisensory, interactive learning
• Optimize the use of the Instructor Manual
• Plan a Just Words lesson and determine a schedule for a unit
• Practice lesson procedures and activities, reviewing unit structure and materials

Schedule: Just Words Introductory Workshop       There are no events currently available. Please check back.   Registration is required before the event and is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment is due at the time of registration and includes a continental breakfast or afternoon snack (for half-day events). Materials are sold separately. Payment is refundable up to 14 days prior to the event date, less a $25 processing fee. A confirmation letter will be sent with directions. While we make every effort to conduct professional development events on the dates and locations advertised, they are subject to change without prior notice. Wilson reserves the right to change or cancel a professional development event due to low enrollment or factors beyond our control. We will attempt to notify registrants to limit customer inconvenience but we are not liable for any expenses incurred.

This half-day workshop reviews the process for student screening, identification, and placement into a Just Words class. It provides practice with the Test of Silent Word Reading Fluency (TOSWRF) and the Word Identification and Spelling Test (WIST). It is helpful, but not required, to bring copies of TOSWRF and WIST tests to the workshop.

This course is appropriate for individuals who will be conducting the screening and placement for the Just Words class, Just Words Facilitator and Presenter candidates, teachers teaching the class, and principals and other administrators.
