Wilson also brings to the task three decades of professional learning and ongoing teacher support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wilson Fundations (Grades K-3)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilsonlanguage.com\/programs\/fundations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wilson Fundations<\/a>&nbsp;is an approved program in NYC, to be used as a supplement to the core and as an intervention. Fundations is integral to a Response to Intervention (RTI) model by providing scientifically-based instruction in Tier 1 (general education) and Tier 2 (early intervention)&nbsp;for at-risk&nbsp;students. Children who require intervention can receive additional small-group Fundations lessons that will correspond to&nbsp;and reinforce the instruction that&nbsp;occurs&nbsp;in the general education classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CORE Curriculum Instructional Materials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fundations was selected by the New York City Board of Education for use in elementary schools throughout the district. Fundations was selected as one of three phonics skills programs to accompany the main ELA choice. For our Fundations K through 3 Virtual Showcase for NYC Core, please click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilsonlanguage.com\/pages\/nyc-core-showcase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>What do I need in Year 1 of my Fundations Implementation?<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>As you begin implementation of Fundations, you\u2019ll need a complete set of materials for each class<br>(teacher and students). Here\u2019s what to order:<ul><li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/store.wilsonlanguage.com\/-fundations-classroom-set-level-1-1-teachers-kit-materials-for-25-students-second-edition-_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wilson Fundations Classroom Set<\/a> for each Grade Level. Each set includes a Teacher\u2019s Kit, Student Durables and Consumables for 25 students, and a one-year FUN HUB\u00ae Teacher subscription. Fundations Level 3 also includes the Wilson Cursive\u00ae Writing Kit<\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>What do I need in Year 2 and beyond of my Fundations Implementation?<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>In subsequent years of your Fundations implementation, you will need new Student Consumables for each class. Additionally, some Student Durables may need to be replaced. Here\u2019s what to order:<ul><li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/store.wilsonlanguage.com\/Fundations-Success-Bundle-Level-1-25-4-Consumables\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wilson Fundations Success Bundle<\/a> for each Grade Level. Lessons are delivered in small group settings and provide meaningful student practice and review.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fun in Focus Teacher\u2019s Manual provides a structured Tier 2 lesson plan for each day to help minimize teacher planning. Student Practice and Challenge books contain extensive controlled text practice with words, phrases, and stories for Tier 2 students. Lesson plans specifically align to Fundations Tier 1 instruction, providing continuity for both teachers and students with aligned activities, routines, and principles of instruction.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wilson Just Words (Grades 4\u201312)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilsonlanguage.com\/programs\/just-words\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wilson Just Words<\/a>&nbsp;provides an accelerated curriculum for the study of word structure through the six syllable types in English and the most common Latin roots. It is a highly explicit, multisensory decoding and spelling program for students in grades 4-12 and adults who do not require the intensive intervention provided by the&nbsp;Wilson Reading System but do require explicit decoding and spelling instruction due to word-level deficits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just Words aligns with a school or district\u2019s&nbsp;Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) or Response to Intervention (RTI) framework of instruction by delivering a&nbsp;Tier 2 intervention addressing&nbsp;a sophisticated study of word structure with&nbsp;explicit teaching of \u201chow English works\u201d for both decoding and spelling automaticity. It is designed for students who can benefit from the targeted word study focus without requiring the more comprehensive intervention of the Wilson Reading System.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wilson Reading System (Grades 2\u201312)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilsonlanguage.com\/programs\/wilson-reading-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wilson Reading System (WRS)<\/a>&nbsp;is a comprehensive, multisensory, structured language program designed for students who struggle with decoding and encoding, and require a Tier 3 intervention. In New York City, the Wilson Reading System is an alternative reading curriculum for students in grades 2-12 with word-level deficits who are not making sufficient progress through their current intervention; have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies and require multisensory language instruction; or who require more intensive structured literacy instruction due to a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wilson Supports Teachers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Professional learning and teacher support have been the primary focus of Wilson Language Training<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;(WLT) for 30 years.
