The program strongly supports the reading, writing, and language standards, providing mastery-oriented instruction for many goals within each of these areas. Through direct teaching and cumulative practice, students learn the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fundamentals of reading<\/strong>, including phonological awareness, phonics,\u00a0and\u00a0word\u00a0structure\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rules and patterns of the English language<\/strong>, including the six syllable types, digraphs, blends, vowel words.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Decoding and encoding mastery<\/strong>\u00a0through engaging, multisensory activities that emphasize application of skills to support\u00a0<strong>accuracy,
