Wilson Language Training Earns IDA Accreditation

Wilson Language Training (WLT) and Wilson® Accredited Partners have received accreditation by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). This designation recognizes that Wilson Reading System® certifications align with the IDA’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading

In 2010 the IDA published these standards which outline the content knowledge necessary to teach reading and writing. IDA now reviews and accredits both university teacher preparation programs and independent teacher training and certification programs that align with the standards.

In the summer of 2015, Wilson Language Training applied for an IDA accreditation review which was then conducted and granted in the fall. The IDA accreditation review included WLT’s Level I (Dyslexia Specialist) and Level II (Dyslexia Therapist) levels of training, as well as a review of the credentialed Wilson trainer process.

This recognition by the IDA reconfirms that Wilson certified educators are well-qualified to provide instruction to students with dyslexia based on recognized best practices and standards in the field.
