We are committed to respecting your privacy. This Notice constitutes the agreement between you and WLT regarding the WLT Services, and our collection and use of information you may provide while using WLT Services. By using or engaging with the WLT Services, you consent to our collection and use of information in accordance with this Notice. If you do not agree with the terms of this Notice, please refrain from using or engaging with any WLT Services.

Information We Collect & How We Collect It

We may collect several categories of information from and about users of WLT Services, including Personally Identifiable Information. The exact Personally Identifiable Information we collect depends on the nature of your interaction with WLT Services. As used in this Notice, “Personally Identifiable Information” refers to information that can be used to identify or contact you, such as your name, email or mailing address, or credit card information.

We collect Personally Identifiable Information from you when you provide it to us, when you create and maintain an account with us, when we provide you with WLT Services, to support your future service needs, and as we communicate with you about WLT Services. Some examples where you may provide this information to us include when you complete a purchase, register for professional learning trainings, use our Online Employment portal, filling out our Material Order Form, interacting with the chatbot on the Sites, complete a survey, or participate in a social media promotion.

When you provide payment information to us, including through our Material Order Form to make a purchase, the transactional information that you provide is transmitted to our processors in a safe, encrypted format. To maintain your security, your encrypted credit card information is sent to the credit card authority and approval status is sent back to us.

As you interact with our Sites, the choices you make may provide information concerning your interests and the appeal and efficacy of Sites features. We may use automatic data-collection technologies to collect certain information about your browsing behavior, including but not limited to, usage details, IP address, and other information. This information helps us better understand our users’ needs and helps us to provide a better and more tailored experience.

We use third-party tools, including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, MixPanel, DataDog, and Salesforce Cloud Marketing (“Third-Party Services”), to collect information about use of the Sites, such as how often users use our Sites and what features they use. These Third-Party Services may deploy or receive cookies, web beacons, or other technologies that collect and evaluate data on users’ behavior when you access the Sites. A cookie is a small file placed on your computer, and you may reject non-essential cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Because cookies can be used to provide certain functionality, if you disable your browser’s cookies feature, certain elements of our Sites may be unavailable to you. Our Third-Party Services may use non-cookie technologies that may not be impacted by browser settings that block cookies.

We use the information we receive from these Third-Party Services to maintain and improve the Sites and our products. For Mixpanel, more information about their data practices may be found online at http://mixpanel.com/privacy/. To opt-out of Mixpanel analytics, please go to https://mixpanel.com/optout/.

Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the Sites, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to the Sites. We use information generated in connection with Google Analytics for IT support, to understand how our Sites are used, and for marketing purposes. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit our Sites, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with Personally Identifiable Information, unless you have opted into receiving marketing communications from WLT. If you have opted into receiving marketing communications from WLT, then we may link your WLT account information with the information collected by Google Analytics, in order to better understand how our Sites are used and to better manage our communications with you. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Sites is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. If you don’t want Analytics to be used in your browser, you can install the Google Analytics browser add-on.

We evaluate the privacy and security controls of these service providers before we agree to use their services. These service providers are bound by applicable laws and contractual obligations of confidentiality and privacy to protect Personally Identifiable Information.

We may share information between and among WLT, its subsidiaries, and affiliates for purposes of data analysis, and other business purposes.

Some colleges and universities that offer courses in teaching or education will partner with WLT to offer course credits to educators in connection with completion of certain trainings. In connection with those programs, we may share your information with the affiliated college or university for the purpose of confirming a particular educator is entitled to course credits.

Sometimes, WLT receives inquiries as to whether an individual is Wilson Reading System® certified or has otherwise participated in our programs. Our standard policy is to not disclose Personally Identifiable Information about participants in our programs. However, unless you specifically request otherwise in writing, WLT will share information regarding your attainment of WLT credentials and the level of participation in our professional learning programs.

WLT maintains a public map displaying the name, email, and general area in which services are offered for any active Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioners and Wilson® Dyslexia Therapists. This map helps parents find certified tutors for their children in their area. Tutors are given the opportunity to opt-out from being displayed on the map as part of their certification process. If you wish to be removed from the map, please contact registrarservices@wilsonlanguage.com.

We may also share your information with other third parties as described in the “Required Disclosures” section below.

How We Safeguard Information

In connection with providing certain WLT Services, such as operating the Sites, we will implement and maintain reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards. For more details on our safeguards and our IT security program, please review our Information Technology Security Standards. We do not store any credit card information that you provide; that information is collected and processed by a third party that is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Due to the nature of internet communications and evolving technologies, however, we cannot provide, and disclaim, assurance that the information you provide us will remain free from loss, misuse, or alteration by third parties who, despite our efforts, obtain unauthorized access.

Accessing, Deleting, or Updating Your Information

You may opt out of receiving emails or other information from us by following the directions set out in this section below, or by using other methods such as links you may find on emails.

If you request, we will remove your name and other Personally Identifiable Information from our databases. For example, if you request we remove your email from our database, we may need to cancel your account in our Sites, since an email is required to login. In addition, please understand that it may not be possible to remove certain information completely, if we must retain the information for permitted business purposes or to comply with applicable laws or orders.
